Test Strategy Document

The DRP Test Strategy Document is a high level description of the overall means by which the disaster recovery plans for the critical functions, processes or systems of the unit will be exercised to determine the efficacy of the plan, and the need to remediate either the plan itself, or, the means by which the plan is going to be carried out.

The Strategy Document will contain the following components:

1. Unit/Department that will be covered in testing
2. Critical functions/processes/systems to be covered in testing.
3. Objectives to be achieved by the tests
4. Types of tests to be conducted and high level description of scenarios.
5. Persons/teams involved in testing
6. Frequency and time frames for testing
7. Desired effect of test results in evaluating the DRP
8. Plans for maintaining the plan subsequent to testing
