The Gramm Leach Bliley Act of 1999
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act reformed regulation on the financial services industry, including measures to safeguard the privacy of financial information. UGA protects all personal information obtained through financial services that are not otherwise publicly available. The GLBA Security Program Coordinator safeguards and monitors this information, while providing risk assessments of potential security or privacy concerns. In 2003, GLBA was amended to also cover health information.
